Summary of IEEE

IEEE in short is a global organization compromised of professional electrical and electronic field related engineers, who have done many different things from educating society on electrical and directly related technologies as well as developed many standards for common devices used in common day applications, from Serial connectivity to Firewire on PCs to a wide variety of different electrical and electro related products and services. See the (IEEE patents page) for a comprehensive list of patents and standards developed by IEEE and their associates/members, and see (this page) for a list of products being sold by the IEEE organization.

IEEE UW Student Branch (UWIEEE) is a subsidiary of the global IEEE organization. Comprized of local University of Washington undergraduate/graduate students and faculty, our mission is the same as above but with an emphasis on local. We host guest speakers, social events, and competitions.
